Villon, Jacques

Jacques Villon, a French painter and engraver born on July 31, 1875 in Damville and who died on June 9, 1963 at the age of 87, was associated with the Cubist movement and famous for his realistic and abstract works. A native of Haute-Normandie, he was the brother of Suzanne Duchamp, Raymond Duchamp-Villon and Marcel Duchamp. In 1894, he moved to Paris to study law, but his interest in art gradually grew, and he spent the following years producing illustrations for newspapers.
